DANCE = LIFE

EXCEPTIONAL CONCERTS COME TO LIFE
WITH ALASKA DANCE THEATRE'S 2008-2009 SEASON

ANCHORAGE, AK - Alaska Dance Theatre announces their 2008-2009 Dance Season featuring a 4 event Dance Series and a new Petits Pas (small steps) Series. Season tickets go on sale May 15, 2008 and range from $77.50 - $100. Season tickets are available through the ADT office by calling 277-9591. Single tickets will go on sale September 1, 2008.

The Dance Series includes a Fall Dance Gala in the Alice Bassler Sullivan Theatre and Alaska Dance Theatre in three MainStage concerts: ADT Presents, The Winter Repertory Concert and INTERSECTIONS with James Sewell Ballet from Minneapolis; all in the Discovery Theatre.

The new Petits Pas Series is presented in the Alice Bassler Sullivan Theatre. This series is a 60-minute preview of each MainStage concert and is intended to introduce newcomers to dance. It is free to any regular Season subscriber. And a subscription of $30 to just this series, is an inexpensive way to see some great dancing.

Under the Artistic Direction of Alice Bassler Sullivan, the Company performs new works by resident and guest choreographers in it's self-produced repertory concerts each year. Alaska Dance Theatre is the first and only Resident Dance Company at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. The dancers are adult professional dancers and the advanced high school dancers on their way to professional careers.

"Our upcoming season features exquisite dancing while showcasing the technical and artistic strength of our company," said Alice Bassler Sullivan, ADT Artistic Director. "ADT also offers the only dance season in Anchorage. For people who want to see a range of classical and contemporary ballet, and modern dance over the course of the year, an ADT Season ticket is the way to go."

Over its 27 year history, the Company has presented works by such choreographers as Tudor, Fokine and Balanchine as well as contemporary works by Tomm Rudd, Judy Austin, Dennis Spaight, Margo Sappington, Jeffery Marc Rockland, Joan Woodbury, Robert Barnett, Shelley Freydont, John Landovsky, Tim O’Slynne, Donlin Foreman, Israel Gabriel, Brian Jeffery, Marianela Boan, Troy Powell, Gabriel Otevrel, Annie Arnoult Beserra, Amy Young, Toni Pimble and Minh Tran.

Alaska Dance Theatre continues to produce collaborative work by providing dancers and choreography for numerous artistic projects with other arts organizations in Anchorage, as well as self-producing concerts and presenting contemporary dance companies in the Eagle Street Studio’s Alice Bassler Sullivan Theatre.
