CREATIVE DANCE CAMPS

The Big Fish: An Alaskan Fairy Tale

by Marcia Wakeland and Sasha Sagan

Tuition:  $185/week per session.

No additional registration or supply fees.

Instructors:  Leslie Ward and Deana Chambers, with Teaching Assistants

Enact the story of The Big Fish, a tale about a young Native girl wishing to catch a king salmon, through movement, costumes and crafts. A performance at the end of the camp will be held in the Alice Bassler Sullivan Theatre in the ADT Studios.

SCHOOL DIVISION
Class curriculum is based on a nine-month academic year with students enrolling for the entire nine-month academic year. They should expect to remain in every level for two years. Placement in each class is dependent upon successful fulfillment of the previous classes’ curriculum. Classes include: Introduction to Children’s Ballet through Children’s Ballet V, Introduction to Children’s Jazz through Advanced Jazz, and the Pre-Professional Divisions. Enrollment in all of the Pre-Professional classes and Advanced Jazz class are by audition only.

OPEN DIVISION
Class curriculum is based on a nine-month academic year, however enrollment is by successive semesters allowing for more flexibility in student’s schedules. Student placement is dependent upon successful mastery of skills as well as age. All Youth Ballet, Youth Jazz, and Youth Modern classes are ages 10-14. Youth Tap is ages 12-adult. All Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Tap classes are ages 15-adult. The Hip Hop classes and Creative Movement classes are age specific.

Encore classes are part of the Open division and consist of classes like pilates, yoga, social dance, and belly dance. Most classes are designed for the “drop in” student.

Private classes, group lessons and other requests can be made by calling the School office at 277-9591.

School policies are outlined in the Parent/Student handbook, which all students and parents agree to.
